Q: Are greyhounds easy to train?

A: Greyhounds crave affection, and are very responsive to your mood. After sharing one human with dozens of dogs in the kennel, adopted Greyhounds are eager to please you. They are very sensitive dogs, and can sense your mood by the tone of your voice.

Greyhounds make great pets!

With their gentle dispositions and good-natured temperaments, retired racing greyhounds make excellent pets. Whether you are a family looking for a playful friend or someone looking for a devoted companion, a well-mannered greyhound could be just the pet for you.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Your ImageThe GPA Northwest Special Needs Program cares for older dogs or special needs dogs that have complicated medical conditions and their stay in foster care may be longer than most. We accept any greyhound in need, whether the dog was originally placed by GPA Northwest or not. GPA Northwest accepts into its foster program any Greyhound with an injury, disease or just old age. This arrangement has enabled these greyhounds to get the special monitoring they need to find the appropriate medical treatment for each dog.
