Pokey
is a very gentle boy who looks for reassurance in new
situations. He prefers to stay at home with his people and
play in the yard. He is older so short, gentle walks are
fine but long walks or runs will be too strenuous for him.
He gets along very well with other dogs of all sizes and
temperaments and ignores the cats in his foster home. He is
not a leader and likes to have people or dogs around to so
he can relax and be a good follower.
Pokey gets an upset digestive system when he is stressed and
changes make him stressed.
Pokey was cleared medically and has been placed on a
special food to keep his digestion working smoothly. He is
also on a mild pain reliever for his age related arthritis.
Pokey is doing great on both and plays in the yard with
other dogs and has not had any problems with his digestion
since changing to his new food.
Pokey has found his home-for-life and now lives very happily
with other greyhounds and people who just love him. He is
feeling so good that he plays in the yard, taking short runs
and playing with toys. He gets along great with all the
other dogs in his new home and has been in perfect health
with only one minor episode of stress related illness but
that only lasted one day and he has bounced back to his
happy self.
