J.T. is a 9-½ year-old red brindle male who is extremely happy. When J.T. was returned to GPA in June 2004, he was thin, limping and had several scraps and scabs. All of his wounds have since healed and he has recovered from major dental work and feels great.
While in foster care, J.T.’s coat condition has greatly improved and he has stopped chewing at his feet. J.T. gained a couple of pounds, but still hasn’t gained the weight that he needs. He is on a special diet and his appetite is good. He is being monitored closely for this condition. In addition, he is not completely housebroken.

Despite J.T.’s age and malnourished condition, he is extremely energetic and alert. He greets his foster family with a wagging tail and runs through the house playing with squeaky toys. He is very open and friendly with everyone and is extremely affectionate with his foster family.

J.T. gets along fine with the other greyhounds in his foster family, but is not very fond of other breeds of dogs and he is definitely not tolerant of cats. J.T. loves playtime with his foster family and is responsive to correction.

Since being on a special diet for several weeks JT has gained more weight in the past month and his chronic diarrhea has greatly improved. He is proving to be a very playful senior who loves playing with his foster family. He is extremely appreciative of any attention and love given to him.
J.T. has developed a sore foot. He was seen by a vet and had x-rays taken to determine the cause of the pain. The vet determined that he does not have anything major wrong with his foot but may need time to recuperate.
JT has settled in to his new home "like he has been there forever." He is sleeping with his people in their bed and instead of hanging with the older male greyhound, Archie, as was intended, JT has bonded to the two young wild females, Lily and Sadie. Typical male!
