Ryan is quite a small male, 63 pounds. He is sweet, active and could use some help improving his leash manners. Ryan is quick to bestow kisses and reward you with his gentle presence and soulful glances.

Unfortunately, Ryan was the victim of an accident on Saturday January 21st, 2006. Ryan suffered a pneumothorax on one side and three cracked ribs on the other side from the impact, as well as various cuts and bruises.

As an organization we always stress the danger should a greyhound get loose and Ryan's situation is a perfect example of that danger. While being transported to an adoption event, Ryan got loose from the vehicle and was hit by a car two blocks away. He was immediately transported to the closest veterinary hospital where he was resuscitated and given oxygen so that he could be transported to Dove Lewis.

Ryan suffered a pneumothorax on one side and three cracked ribs on the other side from the impact, as well as various cuts and bruises. After steady progress all week, Ryan was released from Dove Lewis on Thursday January 26 and is currently on 24-hour monitoring and strict bed rest. Thanks to the wonderful care he received, his prognosis for a complete recovery is excellent.

Ryan had his checkup on Friday March 15th and was released from veterinary care at that time. He is doing great and has fully healed. Ryan is a young, gentle boy that is ready for his home-for-life with a caring family. Since he is tolerant of cats and other small animals, he will make a wonderful companion for almost anyone.

Ryan has found his home and will be living a normal, happy life. He is expected to have no further complications from his injuries and has become a very happy dog.
