Eli is a beautiful dark brindle boy who broke his rear leg while racing. he has been evaluated by a specialist and is being treated. Eli is a little shy at first but warms up in about 3 minutes and will let you pet him as long as you want. He will need a special home but he is a special dog and deserves the softest bed and not too many stairs!

Eli had a broken hock, which are a set of small bones in his upper rear foot. The injury was severe but it was splinted soon after the injury occured and has been healing. Because he still had pain in his leg, the specialist cast the leg again for two weeks to stabilize the bones and allow it to fully heal without pain. After several weeks in the cast the specialist determined that the bones were healed as well as possible. Eli still has some discomfort in that leg but he gets around fine and is doing very well in his foster home.
He needs a home without a lot of stairs and lots of soft places to sleep. He should have no problems as long as his activity is managed properly. That means no really long walks and no dog park running. He will be just fine playing in a back yard and taking the occasional walk around the neighborhood. Eli is very sweet and will be a great companion.
