Caddy came to GPA Northwest from Jacksonville Florida. He broke his right rear leg during his last race but the injury was not treated until he arrived at GPA Northwest.

A surgical repair with a plate, pins and wires was done to try to save his leg from amputation.

After two weeks of careful treatment, the surgeon determined that the bone in Caddy's leg was too damaged to survive and had begun to deteriorate. The only choice for Caddy was to amputate the damaged leg before it became septic. Caddy had his second surgery on November 19th and healed perfectly. His stitches were removed on December 3rd and Caddy is ready to find his home.

He gets around great because he had to walk using only three legs for months already and his damaged leg is no longer dragging on him. Now he has no pain and is becoming playful in his foster home. Caddy is a lover and very gentle. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home and leaves the cat alone. He could not be a nicer dog and he has a full life ahead of him.
Thanks to a great surgeon and support from GPA Northwest members, Caddy is on the mend and hopes to find the perfect home soon.
