Greyhound Pets of America National

Greyhound Pets of America is a National organization dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for retired racing Greyhounds. As a tax-exempt, non-profit organization, GPA depends on donations and volunteers to accomplish its goals. As of 2007, Greyhound Pets of America has 51 chapters and sub-chapters around the nation.

Greyhound Radio Show

The only radio show dedicated to Greyhounds. This weekly radio show is produced by Greyhound Pets of America and covers a wide variety of subjects that all Greyhound lovers will want to hear. You can download the current show and many past shows from the GMGP website. Listen to your favorite subject at your leisure.

National Greyhound Association

National Greyhound Association is the governing body of Greyhound Racing in the United States. This site instructs you on how to obtain the official racing history of your dog by mailing in the ear tattoo numbers. For a price, you can even receive a certificate naming you as the registered owner of your dog.

Oregonian Pet Pages

Deb Wood, the columnist, offers her own perspective on pet related issues. Deb has spent time at the greyhound adoption kennel and with greyhounds in their homes. She periodically discusses greyhounds as pets in her column.

Rosnet 2000

Rosnet2000 is a Greyhound racing data management system where you, as a Greyhound owner, can enter your dog's full racing name under "Greyhound Data" and find out their birthday, parents, littermates and racing history, complete with commentary such as "Bumped, inside", "Led all the way" or the dreaded "No factor". This is a free site, and records can be incomplete.

The Greyhound Project

Their Adopt-a-Greyhound website is dedicated to promoting the adoption of retired racing greyhounds as pets, as well as sharing information and resources with adoption groups and greyhound owners. Arguably the definitive source on the Web for greyhounds and their adoption, this site contains health and care information, articles and stories, links and pointers to publications and adoption agencies, as well as a collection of artwork and clip-art.

Wings For Greyhounds

In 1996, using a small private plane and with the help of volunteer pilots and co-pilots, Maggie McCurry began flying retired racing Greyhounds between Greyhound rescue organizations working at the Arizona race tracks and the outlying Greyhound adoption centers in the Los Angeles, Northern and Central California area.
