Greyhound Pets of America Northwest
Three Dogs Racing, a team of amateur race car drivers, announced today that their number 17 Porsche will support the Greyhound Pets of America Northwest throughout the 2008 Racing Season. The car, branded with GPA Northwest graphics, will debut at the Portland Rose Festival 47th Annual Rose Cup Races this weekend at Portland International Raceway.
Over the last four years, Keith Jones, Three Dogs Racing #17, has had several sponsors for his race car. Sponsors included everything from Microbreweries, to Car Dealers, to Gourmet Wine Shops. This year Jones is taking a completely different approach, "Rather than secure sponsors to help us, we decided we wanted to give back - our efforts are being spent to raise money and generate awareness for the Greyhound Pets of America Northwest".
Keith's wife, Kathy, a graphic designer and photographer has been volunteering for GPA Northwest for three years. This year Kathy landed a position on the GPA Northwest Board of Directors as their Communications Director. Part of Kathy's passion is to find new venues to introduce the public to these beautiful, regal creatures, and let people know what wonderful pets Greyhounds can be.
Three Dogs Racing is asking for pledges to support the "Porsche Cup" Race. All pledges will be given to GPA Northwest. Pledges can be made per lap or as a flat donation. Why pledges at a race? Kathy believes, "People in Oregon love dogs, so asking for pledges at one of Oregons most prestigious racing events seemed like a natural fit". Pledges can be made on line at www.gpa-nw.org.
With fresh pavement at Portland International Raceway and fresh paint on the car, the team is ready for action. Come watch the Rose Cup Races, a Portland Tradition since 1961. Stop by the pits to see the car close up and meet the drivers and the dogs.

About Three Dogs Racing
Formed in 2006, Three Dogs Racing developed through a friendship of like interests. The racers, Keith E. Jones, and husband and wife Daniel and Julie Jesse, all drive Porsches. After competing on the track and spending time together with their three dogs, the group decided to form a "team", with a simple theme in mind, "Good Friends, Fast Cars, Cool Dogs".
